According to Statista, Apple achieved nearly 36.8 percent gross profit on hardware in 2025. In contrast, ASUS has witnessed its profit margins shrink to around 15.3 percent in recent quarters, less than one-third of Apple's 2025 average of 46.9 percent. The immediate future looks challenging for ASUS and other Windows OEMs. HP recently informed investors that memory now constitutes over one-third of its PC expenses. If memory shortages persist, many will have to increase prices to maintain margins.
